: Replacing Bumper Shell

Hi Everyone:

Someone gave me a nice present at work last week, they bumped into my rear bumper, leaving me a nice 6" vertical crease. After evaluating a new bumper from GM (not! - too expensive) and having my body shop fix it, I came upon a guy in Texas selling re-chromed bumper shells on Ebay for only $125.00.

It's supposed to arrive next week. Since this is just the shell, does anyone have any experience in switching this out with the one on the truck? Seems like I would just unbolt the original, pop off the rubber, wiring harness for the license plate light and mount them to the new shell and bolt it all back on? Anyone done this? Any gotchas or P.I.T.A. things I should be aware of?

I am hoping that this won't be one of those jobs that looks easy but turns out to be difficult.

All the best,

Dan
