buddy of mine just bought a 2001 red extended cab 4x4 ram with the cummins of couse http://gm-diesel.com/diesel/vbull/ubb/wink.gif Well, he took something called an air silencer ring off his turbo, you take the air intake hose off the front and there is a little ring that you pop off with a screwdriver, and man, it makes that turbo scream!! Its got the six speed and every time he lets off the gas to change gears you can hear the blow off valve go "pssssssttttttt", also he has no cat or muffler. I looked on my 6.5 and didnt see air silencer ring, do these have a different type of air silencer on them http://gm-diesel.com/diesel/vbull/ubb/confused.gif

Our turbo has no silencer ring in it.

my 6.5td makes that same sound and the whine is LOUD.If you stand behind my truck at idle you can hear it spinning.NICE!!


remove cat,remove muffler,install cone filter that is mounted straight to the turbo inlet.


Mines a auto but when i let off the gas i get the same PSSSHHH sound...
