Installed mine 2 weeks ago and yes there is a remote wire, but if you're going to use it, there is one splice you have to make.

What splice do you have to make. Too I cant seem to figure out if this is what I want to do. If I understand right, I can use this interface to build a whole new system. But I will have to keep the bose amp hooked-up. Do I just keep it hooked-up or do I have to keep it hooked-up and working.I was thinking of gutting the whole system. I could leave the amp I just wouldn't have it pushing anything. I think it would cause minimal power drainage if it were powered on and not making music. What do you think

The PAC 24 connects right after the HU. It takes everything downstream, amp and speakers, out of the picture. I would assume the Bose amp wont power up after the PAC is installed. The output of the PAC is 4 RCA connectors that need to go to an amp, then speakers are run from the new amp. You shouldn't even be using your old speaker wires as you should just run new wires from the amp to the doors.

You have it all wrong ! The Pac unit is just a device that lets all the factory signals pass through, uninterrupted and gives you the availability to hook a external sub amp up . The Bose amp is not even touched, it is triggered by the bcm, not the 12volt supply the pac amp sees. The factory wires are fine , why touch them ?

The pac has a sensitivity control to blend the sub amp current and drive to the factory unit and external amp. This is the easiest and best sounding way to hook up a sub amp.

YES IT HAS A BLUE TRIGER WIRE THAT TAPS INTO THE PINK POWER WIRE IN THE HARNESS; HOWEVER I RECOMEND THAT YOU FIND A KEY IGNITION SOURCE AS A 12 VOLT WIRE SO WHEN YOU WASH YOUR TRUCK OR LEAVE THE RADIO ON FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME(TRUCK NOT RUNNING) THE SUB DONT DRAIN THE BATTERY AND LEAVE YOU STRANDED . YES THEY WILL IN ABOUT 1 HR OR SO !

So, If you have a Bose system, and want to gut it and go AM amp and speakers, do you just unplug the Bose amp?

The PAC can be used for more than just a Sub amp BTW....

The speaker wires are probably fine. But if you install an amp in the back for example, you need to run wire anyway....I guess if you have a center console, you can fit your amp in there and use the stock speaker wires...

Yeah I am thinking that if I used the PAC adapter that I can do as I planned, which is to get rid of everything but the Bose© Amp. If you look on the PAC website you will see that it clearly states that the amp must work for the PAC to function properly. One set of RCA's is more than enough to build a killer system. I can always use attenuators to control overshadowing, but I doubt I will need to. Does anyone else have this PAC module, if so how do you have it hooked-up

That doesn't sound right from all I've read here. I have a Non-Bose system, no amp at all, and will be running the 24 with an AM amp, and AM speakers...

From what I understand, if you have a non-lux system, you can just plug in your Pac AOEM-GM24, run the RCA to an AM amp, run AM speaker off AM amp. You can't use Bose speakers without using a Bose amp from what I understand..

Sorry you are right the C2A-GM24 is the one I was reading about and if I can find it, it is the one I will use.

If you don't want to splice into radio harnesses for the amp trigger wire you go go my route. I simply piggy-backed it off the A/C fuse in the fuse panel inside the truck on the driver's side. It gave me the power signal i needed. This way it also only works if the vehicle is on. I didn't want to drain power from my batteries if i left the the stereo on as i sometimes do. I also installed an inline switch so i could turn off the subs on command. Nice feature to have when getting pulled over by police or driving with the misses. ;)

Look at this thread
http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100267

I have a non bose system and added two amps to the factory stereo.
Using the connector AOEM GM24 worked out well.
I also used a keyed on power source and spiliced it into the GM-24 connector and out of the connector to the amps.

With the key in the run position, it powers up the amps. That means for me that if the motor is not alive, the amps will turn on and run down the battery. I just need to remember this always.

I had a system that the amps only came on when the motor fired, but I hated the 4-5 sec pause to hear the speakers.

When I get in my truck, and put the key in the ignition, it's usually to start the beast, so I'm not too concerned about when and how the amps turn on.

Well I am still yet to see where someone did an install with the Bose© amp. I would really like to see this.

I have the AOEM GM24 installed along with the factory Bose amp and sub. I piggybacked an auxillary power supply for the amp.
I also integrated the AAI-GM24 auxillary input for my Ipod. Both work great.

I have installed it with my bose system. everything works fine and my amp and sub sound really good. The PAC doesnt effect the bose amp.

Please note that I plan to remove everything but the bose amp. I will replace all of the speakers and add a set of sub's. I thought I read that if I dont keep the amp that the adapter will not function properly

Bose amps are proprietary and have a weird Impedance at 3 Ohms IIRC and they do not play well with aftermarket drivers and such. The Bose system is all inter grated at a weird load to the drivers and amps. You would be better off gutting the Bose and starting new with after market amps.

understand that I intend to use all aftermarket equipment, I just dont plan to remove nor disconnect the Bose amp. I thought I read that if you disconnect the amp, the adapter will not function properly. I will not use the Bose amp for anything. I will use A/M amps for everything.
