[I posted this under a different heading in the 2500/3500 forum but thought that anyone searching for info would never find it so here it is again.]
Added the Racor pre-oem fuel filter with WIF and heater. Installation went smooth but I had a couple of issues. First I ended up breaking a couple of the clips that hold the fuel line to the inside frame rail--nothing tragic, the little spring tabs snapped off when I was pulling the fuel line out far enough to get the tubing cutter behind it. The lines clipped back in anyway even without the tabs. Also had trouble re-priming the system. It took me several tries to prime the system until I figured out that I needed to pump the oem primer until I got clear fuel out, not foam, and I'm not sure if I had better luck getting the engine started and running longer in between tries by tightening the bleeder screw while the fuel was flowing or by leaving it open.
Will definately be replacing that P.O.S. plastic bleeder screw on the oem filter with a stainless steel one--only got about 3 turns on it before the slot chipped and I had to take a socket to it to open and close it. Eventually I got the system running and after a few minutes idle time, went and filled up with diesel ($2.05 here in Vegas). http://dieselplace.com/forum/uploads/3C7_DSC01296.jpg
