I have changed the fuel filter on the road and never lost one drop of diesel and the engine was hot from towing up a pass.
Today I did the same job in my garage and couldn't get the filter out of the truck because the diesel was flowing and made the filter slick. I worked fast after finally removing the filter and finished the job by washing the engine and tires and the garage floor. The question was why did the fuel keeping coming out of the filter housing this time and not the first filter change?? I used the directions from this forum and had all the tools but what a difference.
