Had the dealer check do a health check of my D/A today in prep for 3K road trip with TT after Labor Day. I performed level 1 & 2 maint at 10K & 15K. At 10K did lube, oil/filter, fuel/tranny filter, and diff lube. At 15K did Lube, & oil/filter. Mechanic adivsed that DIC showed fuel filter at 0% --- Yikes!!!!! I was on the 10K FF change routine and what a suprise. Now the only "diff" since change of filter at 10K that I've done is that I went from OEM filter to (1) Wix and (2) burning Willie Biodiesel - B10. Went from CITGO-#2 to Love - Willie Bio. Only fueled up at CITGO (TX) -Choctaw Texaco (Okla) in first 10K. Same with dieseling up from 10 to 15K. Mechanic gague showed fuel input vacuum at 7.5 with motor rivved, and he said it should be between 2-3. In Feb 06, I asked question about specs for branded D/A fuel filter, and mfg said that the specs are the same irregardless of brand. Sooo, if that correct, is Biodiesel - B10 killing my Wix fuel filter early?? I'm going back to CITGO #2 to see what the life of my new Wix fuel filter which will be installed tomorrow morn. God, I love this D/A, life is so simple with it!!!!:muahaha:

BIO will most definitely cause you to go through filters faster. Especially the first time you run it as it will clean the fuel lines a bit.

the type of filter or brand does not matter when it comes to the dic.it goes off of gallons used ,fuel mileage.stuff like that.it dosent actually know that your filter is dirty.it is just guessing based on the way you have used your truck.works just like the oil minder.it dosent know if your oil is dirty either.

Better get use to biodiesel, If your not running it now you soon will be. Since ULSD is only 15 ppm compared to LSD 500 ppm there has to be more lubrication and guess what, Biodiesel is the lubrication.

Did reset the DIC Fuel Filter to 0% at 10K with FF chg. Ok, so Wix FF is same as the Chevy OEM FF. That basically leaves the diodiesel as the other basic variable. Understand the biodiesel cleans up the lines/etc, but the truck was born on Jun 05, so how much would it have to clean up. Know diesel is "dirty". I would expect that on my TT road trip, I'll not find that much biodiesel. Only place I can get biodiesel near home base is Love's Travel Mart, and if I buy the #2 will have to continue to use Stanadyne for lube value.
