Wondering if this is possible? Right now i have the standard manual dual zone control head and was was wondering if i got a new control head if the plugs on the back were the same for the manul zone to auto zone? if so wouldn't that require just switching to the automatic one? considering both already have the same sensors to detect temps on each side? just thinking about trying it.
besides the controller and head what else would be needed?

I have the auto temp controller in my truck. I would not waste my time installing this. Not that it's a bad thing to have, just very quirky in the way it behaves. It takes some time for it to sense conditions and even then it cant take into account humidity levels in the cab which can make 74 degrees feel comfortable one day and not another. Just my opinion, spend the time and money where the truck could really use it. :)

I like the manual one better. No lights to stop working and the manual one lets you see what both sides are set at. With the auto one it just shows the DS unless you adjust the PS. I have 2 trucks with both and i would much rather have the manual. The auto feture is very "quirky" for sure. I don't like the way it behaves.

A LOT of stuff.;)
the WHOLE front IP/dash would have to come out. All new ducting with sensors, wiring, the sensor in the headliner, buncha other stuff.
I personally like the auto unit better...seems to work well enough for me, and IMHO it looks better.

I have one of each. In my reg cab, the manual controls are fine - it's a work truck and is used for either max heat or max cool, otherwise it seems to stay off...
In my CC, the auto was the only way to go. I haven't moved it from 72 since January when I got it, and I've never been uncomfortable.
I'll never own another personal vehicle without auto climate control. When I ordered the truck it was like $150 or $200. No brainer.
