What is it? I mean what does tow and haul mode make the truck do different? and also what are people saying "they shifts are firmer" in it? Can it take more abuse then normal drive?

Changes shift points so it shifts at higher RPM's and it also locks up the torque converter in lower gears to reduce heat and aid engine braking.
