I just purchased my 2002 duramax on friday and had the bullydog triple dog downloader. I went to install the program and it says it loaded okay but when tested it was stock, just as before i programmed it. now the programmer seems to be broke. it will not upload onto the dodge truck it came off of. i am at a loss. now i do know that the truck seems to run pretty hard and smokes abit. is it possible i bought a used truck with a programmer in it already. i have also noticed that my fuel mileage is poor. any idea would be nice. also, does anyone know the process of reflashing the computer? how long does it take, do they have to ship the computer out or is it in house? thanks guys.

to reflash the computer take it to a gm dealer. or maybe try to unplug both batteries for a couple hours.

Typically these programmers are NOT interchangeable between manufacturers. A programmer for a Dodge, will NOT work on a Chevy GMC or the other one uhhgh I think FUD, no Ford, thats it.
You need to get a programmer for your vehicle.
On Edit...Never mind, Just did a search on it, and found out it works for all three. Maybe a problem with the programmer.

I believe THAT programmer works on all three.

Wow thought i was crazy when someone said it wouldnt work. That was the selling point. Thought I got screwed. But yes it works on duramax, powerstroke, and cummins. It works great on the cummins but we tryed it on two duramaxes a 02 and a 04 and it wouldnt work at all. now the goofy thing is, when it downloads, it says download complete and sucessful. u you can actually switch the programs and hear the injectors change pitch so i know it works somewhat. but its just down on its power. now i have seen bullydog working on other duramaxes and they run hard and smoke like crazy. but this one doesnt run hard and has no smoke at all. so i guess im at a loss. btw i also changed the fuel fitler and checked air filter with no change.
Can you load it on one truck and then another without unloading it off the first? I figured you would have to set the original back to stock before moving on to another truck. Just curious.

yes, i unloaded the programmer before trying it on another truck. my buddy put it on his 05 cummins and it works great. it must be something with my truck. i dont get it. im going to try a bullydog dyno dominator and c if that works. and if it does, im going to load a programmer on it as well. any ideas to as why this doesnt work?
Probably the unit is messed up. Send it back and they should replace it.

well i tryed my bullydog dynodominator on the truck today and it as well didnt work. i have started a new bulletin on my new problems, i think they are related. the heading on that issue is "bullydog says MAP sensor" my dealer spoke with bullydog and he said they think it may be the MAP sensor but i spoke with a local shop, they say it would definatly throw a code. i have no codes that deal with the MAP. truck runs okay "stock" but i would like to get this resolved as i have 600$ toy sittin on my bench :help:

Okay so today i took my truck to my buddy at the local dealer, he says no codes and it does have the current software from GM. he detected no obvious issues. he has no troubles connecting with the ecm and has no clue why it wont work. im kinda at a loss right now, and am new to the duramax as i was a ford owner. any insight would be great. thanks for the help guys, im just kinda anxious as i have some coin$$ sittin on the bench that does nothing more than taunght me as i walk by. thanks in advance
