I have a question for one of the Techs. I installed a Homelink unit in my overhead console. The Homelink unit came with 2 wires on it. One orange, and one white. I tied the orange to the orange in the overhead console, and the white to the black in the overhead console. Well the Homelink has power part of the time, and not others. I did find if it doesn't have power if I push one of the map lights on the console I will have power to the Homelink. Does this have anything to do with the RAP? It doesn't seam to make any difference if I have the engine running or not.

Mine does the same thing. I think the relay for the map lights are on a timer to prevent battery run-down if they are left on.

That is correct. The only way to solve it is to run a serpate power wire. You might as well run one that turns on with the ignition so that someone can't break into your truck and open your garage door if you leave the truck outside.

I think I will just leave it the way it is. If someone does break in my pickup and finds it, they will never guess they have to turn the map light on to make it work. A good security device.
