Truck was at operating temp. Turning the corner from a stop the truck wouldn't shift out of second. Took my foot off the gas, shifted to N, then back to drive, still no luck (though it did seem that the shift lever wasn't quite all the way in drive 'cause it went to N in what felt like half a click). SES light on. Pulled over and turned off truck for 15 seconds. Restarted and shifting normally. SES went out after about 3 engine restarts. Prior to this episode I had driven from the house to the corner where I turned and got full range of shifting.

Take it to an Autozone or your dealer and find what code got set (make sure they look in the TCM, not just the ECM). A code will give us a better idea of what happened.

Where do they connect to the TCM? I'm aware of the conection under the steering wheel (guessing that's the ECM)...

That's the one. They use the same connector but the TCM is under a different option on the Tech II.

Dealer confirmed problem and said the solonoid was sticking--said they connected the tech2 and was able to actuate the solonoid freely so there's nothing that can be done but just keep an eye on it.

More Then Likely Your Inhibator Switch Is Going Bad. Also Known. As Neutral Safety Switch. Seen It Happen In The Past.

Where is this inhibitor switch located I have had the same message in my truck a while ago?
