It seems like all I have read is bad press on the Predator. Is it because we never hear about the ones who are happy with their product? Lets hear the good storys. I have been considering one as they seem to give the most bang for the buck.

I like mine....allowed my 7400lbs GMC 3500 to go 14.82 with just the 120 tune and everything else stock on the truck.....

The only draw backs for me are its inability to change tunes on the fly... other than that i love every bit of it....

I have had no problems for 19,000 miles. No codes, no surges, nothing. It does run hotter than others, and the shifting is sloppy. I am running it on 60hp now, stacked with my VA90, and it hauls ass. Shifts like stock, and the 60 was just enough to give the VA90 more pedal response. I can also shut off the VA on the fly, so I have the 60 for towing if I need it at all times. Works good for me.

I ran a predator on both my 03 Hummers and it made them run a lot better. They made more power and increased fuel economy for what it's worth. Have talked to a few people who run them on the DMAX and all they can say is they are happy with them for the most part. I plan on running one later but running a pup for now and I love it..

I hated mine until I raised holy hell, and got a decent custom tune.

Its pretty good now.

I like my Predator, there isnt anything else on the market that will do the variety of things a Predator will all in one combo.

I've had mine for a year now. I've sent it back and I'm now running the 1.07 version. It's been a great tuner. Thinking about sending it back for the newest update.

I like my Predator, there isnt anything else on the market that will do the variety of things a Predator will all in one combo. I have the Predator and the Stealth. What will the Predator do that the Stealth can not do?

I have set codes in the 700`s which is transmission. the Predator can not fix them. The Stealth has no problem at all.

The Stealth is quicker to program, it has more power, and it seems to do everything and more then the Predator.

Am I missing something in what the Predator can do?

I did a very long write up on the Stealth and Predator last fall. In my opinion the Stealth is much better, but the Predator isn't bad at all. It is just stuburn some time while trying to install the program. And it seems to set more codes the the Stealth. here is the topic http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=138&KW=predator

Does the Quad show full diagnostics of engine data and fuel trim data? Does the Quad raise the speedlimiter on a 2001 truck??

Does the Quad show full diagnostics of engine data and fuel trim data? Does the Quad raise the speed limiter on a 2001 truck?? No, that is one thing that the Predator does that the Stealth can not.

Thanks for reminding me.

Also, the Predator does a better job showing you what codes has been set. The Predator does live monitoring of pretty much all engine parameters while you drive down the road. The Predator also has the ability to connect to your computer. I just wish they had software so you could do live monitoring with the Laptop.

The Predator has some good points, that is why I have turned down several offers. The one thing I don't like is it marries to the first truck that is programed with it. Well that and the fact you can not change power settings while driving. But neither does the Stealth. That is the main reason I want the Juice/Attitude, that and the fact I want to try a different box.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I haven't had any problems with mine yet, other than forgetting to reprogram for the tire size and getting a speeding ticket. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

hdmax,

The predator raises the speed limiter on 2001's? Or were you answering his other question?

hdmax,

The predator raises the speed limiter on 2001's? Or were you answering his other question? I don't know about the 01`s! As I have an 02, so that is what I'm concerned abouthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Lots of good replies to my question, appreciate the comments. I now have ordered a Predator. Like everything else there are compromises, so some are better, but may cost a lot more. This gives me the ability to read codes and do live monitoring, probably that alone is worth the cost. Time will tell.

Thanks again.

I know the Predator raises the speed limiter as I have an 01 also, I was answering. The only other thing I wish the Predator showed is actual rail pressure vs. commanded.
