I'm running the 6-spd trany in my truck. I want more power but I haven't been able to find out which chip/programmer is best for me with the stick shift. I do light towing when I tow (4000bs) and up to 9000lbs very rarely. Mostly running empty though. How does the ZF stand up to the allison in terms of power handling? Can I crank more ponies through the ZF or are the two rated about the same? I'm leaning toward a Juice, but the 6-gun looks good too. Please tell me what all you power-heads think. I'm assuming all these modules will work with the stick the same as the alli just won't need to use all the options, correct?

The ZF is strong, but pretty much any tuner or module (even on the lowest setting) is too much for the stock flywheel -- at least that has been my experience. CPMac offers flywheel/clutch/pressure plate kits to resolve this issue.
The Quadzilla tunes work great with a six speed -- very driveable yet fast, great overrev, removes the speed limiter and adjusts for tire size. The 110 and 135 tunes have strong low-end where as the 215 is stronger from 2,000 RPMs on up.
As far as modules go the Van Aaken and TST have been known to work well with six speeds. The Juice is better suited to the Allison (need Attitude to change settings w/ a ZF truck and it has programming logic specific to the Allison that is at best superfluous). You might want to find a post that Kennedy had on the Banks -- he had some dyno charts of it on a six speed truck -- it added quite a bit of torque at extremely low RPMs. The Banks might be a good fit if you are only interested in towing (it's definitely not a performance-oriented tuner).

I also have a ZF and have been looking for a chip/programmer. I have been leaning toward the juice/attitude but I also am concerned about tearing up my ZF or flywheel.
Zorganov, got any pics of your truck? luv to see'em

I love the Juice/Attitude with my 6speeder. Huge gains in low RPM torque which is felt a lot more with a stick shift than it is with an allison.
I know these flywheels are weak but I've run mine at the 125hp/325tq setting plenty of times and I've never experienced any clutch slippage. Lots of tire slippage in 3rd gear (and even 4th gear with a flick of the steering wheel) on dry pavement though.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Not bad for 35" tires.Edited by: Camstyn

I like my quad 135. It will make the flywheel sing under heavy acceleration though. If you are going to run a 110 or higher I would also start saving money for CPMac's clutch flywheel setup.

OK Rattlewagon, these are for you!! Enjoy!! I know she's not clean in most of the pics, but she's really hard to keep clean, I bought a pressure washer the day after I picked her up just for cleaning!! Paid for several times over already and the trucks just over a year old.
This is what she should look like!
