Why don't we just unplug EGR when closed and leave it unplugged?Seems to me all this trouble people are having with the blocker plates we could come up with something like this. I probably need to find out how the EGR valve works, but doesn't it open and close? Someone with more experience might be able to answer this question

We have gone over this when we started this mod the valve could be pushed open by the exhaust. And I think there was a concern about soot build up on the valve could cause it to get stuck.

Only if he didn't do a finger stick. He'd get a light even if he did do a fingers stick. According to fingers the stick only works when the egr is plugged in.

PPE has hand held programers that allow you to unplug the egr and not set a code. I think they have a code blocker that you can wire in also. I have been running mine unpluged with their programer for 4/5 months now with no problems. Although it might be better to block,or remove the valve. However if you break down somewhere, and need warranty work you might be screwed!!
