I mostly use Delvac 1 but the last two have been Rotella 15/40. Day before Yesterday I changed the oil and filter as usual and switched back to Delvac 1. After the change I idled her for a couple of minutes checking for leaks & level etc.


The next morning I cranked as normal and started down the road.Right off I started getting a power surge like the fan was engaging/disengaging and there was a sound like a bearing screeming or a belt slipping. This was all happening less than 30 MPH and as soon as I hit 3rd she was done and hasn't complained since.


Anybody have any ideas as to why this happened? Could this event be the precurser to injectors or something else?

Did you maybe drip some oil on the serpentine belt when you were filling the crankcase?

I dunno but I'll look.
