I placed my order today for a 2005 GMC CC/SB. The dealer is being pretty pessimistic telling me to expect mid to late September delivery. Hopefully it will be sooner than that.

Beyond that, I live in San Jose, CA and I have a couple of projects I want a local reputable diesel shop to perform. Basically I want to add a Nicktane filter and also a Banks A-pillar gauge stack. Can anybody recommend a shop that they've had good luck with in the past?

how did you order - the official order date is not before June 10 I was told from a trustworthy source (that is for the Silverado though)?

My dealer checked with GMC prior to taking my order. He said they are now taking orders and he'll be submitting this one on Tuesday. I guess we'll see if it gets kicked back.

How much you are paying for the 2005?

I am paying a fixed amount over invoice but we won't have the exact increase for 2005's versus 2004 or the rebates. If it comes in too big of an increase and not enough rebates, I can back out, no harm/foul since the dealer is confident he can find another buyer for the truck I ordered.

So you are paying x $ over invoice but you do not have the actual invoice price? Maybe therefore you could already order the truck before June 10, its like a reservation or preorder?

That would be my best guess on how this is working. I will be pinging my dealer weekly to find out when a TPW gets assigned and update the group when that happens.

My dealer was only able to order white trucks for the past month (or that's what he claimed each week as I tracked it) and I definitely did not want white. The 2005's can have a sunroof which my wife really wanted so that left me with 2005 as being my only real option. It's going to be a long 6-8+ weeks waiting on this beast.:-)

I was able to order last Tuesday. I was told they wouldn't have the prices until August.......
