It rained real hard by me last week, went to vacum my truck yesterday(2003 2500HD EC/ DA) and found that the carpet was wet by the door moulding. I popped off the moulding lifeted the carpet and found the mat under the carpet was SOAKED only on the passenger side all the way to the transmission hump front and back. top of the carpet was dry except for the edges by the door moulding. Any Ideas anyone?????

To be that wet I gotta assume windshield and or cowl ....

I'm sure the body shop at your dealer will locate ...

2001s had a lot of problems with leaky cab clearance lights. The water runs around the headliner, down the A pillar, and drips into the passenger footwell just like you describe.

I have a leak problem in a 93 dodge took the whole Cowl off blocked the drains and filled it with water counld find the leak. best i can tell it coming in though the door seal. I removed the carpet till i can find the problem. Water in the carpet will make the Truck Stink. Also there what a post that some one was missing the vents on the back of the cab and where getting water in there.

My 2001 GMC did the same thing. Passenger side.

Couple of things that might have caused mine.

Before the tree fell on it I had the windshield replaced for a crack.

Then the tree fell on it but didi not crack the windshield.

I had some clearance lights replaced because of damage from the tree.

After all that the passenger side leaked, you could see it dripping from under the dash in the corner and the clearance lights leaked.Edited by: hoot

There is a rubber vent in the back of the cab so the doors will close easily with an airtight cab. It's behind the seat and between the cab and bed. I've heard of these being left out at the factory and if so, you will accumulate a lot of water. Check this out.

Ok the dealer has had my truck for 3 days nowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif. they called today and said that the water leak was due to the rear upper door weatherseal on the passenger door. they are gonna replace the seal, I should get the truck back tomarrow.....I hope.

Did you ever find the leak?

hamelyak,

Yes it was the weatherstrip. Dealer said it had a defect which caused the leak. Have not had any problems with water in the cab since......knock on wood. I have heard of a few folks with clearance light lens leaks. thats what I thought mine was gonna be.

Weather strip around the driver side door, correct? I dont have clearance lights and when you look through the "leak" topics people claim different solutions. Mostly weather strip and windsheild replacement. Thanks!
