I am looking at purchasing a 4" turbo back MBRP exhaust and was wondering if you order these exhausts to fit your particular truck or would u have to cut and weld it down to fit? Thanks guys

some kits are designed for long bed, short bed and dual rear wheels and it's a cut to fit type thing. On my exhaust i got a flo pro 4" cat back bolt to flange kit. I had to make 1 measurement/cut. Then clamps hold the pices together. You are then supposed to eventually take it to a shop and have it welded....

so I can't buy one for a regular cab long bed that I can mount out of the box without any cutting

all you need is a simple hack saw.

I have a quad cab short bed, i put the MBRP kit on it and it fit fine with no welding or cutting... it took a long time but i was able to put it on just fine with the help of a friend.. is should list your application on the MBRP site..

I think that the kit that fits an extended cab long bed would be the one you would use, and there is a middle piece of pipe that you omit if you have a regular cab long bed. Everything else should bolt up with no cutting. Be sure you ask before you buy, as there are a lot of different people doing these exhaust systems.

I was going to do that, but didn't waste the money, because they don't make virtually any difference in performance. The stock 3.5 inch pipe is plenty for these engines. Besides, the downpipe from the Turbo to that clamp flange is only 3 inch. You are only going to flow as good as you smallest point. I posted a few years ago and asked the question if you would get any performance gains from 3.5 inch to 4 inch and the answers all came back and said not really. I lost the kitty and mine ran better in the mid range. Left the stock muffler on there.

magnum,

The systems are built and packaged to fit the longest factory bed/cab dimensions. You cut the intermediate pipe to the correct length listed in the install info to fit the shorter trucks. Real easy to do a hacksaw will do it, but a sawsall is lots quicker. You'll get 10-15 HP and 20-30 LBS of torque, plus the EGT's will drop a lot and the turbo will spool up a lot faster. The stock pipes are decent, but if you want to up the HP you'll need the extra diameter and mandrel bending to get the EGT to a place where you can use the electronic HP you will eventually get or already have! This place is addictive and you're just starting!!! If you have any questions just call us.
