The stock Allison WILL hold power across 400RW.
Ran a 2003 today and yes it did slip the converter TERRIBLY, but since we were using non-managed boxes, it kept on going.
You could actually hear and feel it slip, then chatter as it regained it's grip. Snapshot looked just like what Eric's did, only MUCH longer duration of slip. There is no doubt that this one is scarred for life, but it did hit 440+ RWhp...

If I had another convertor to bring with me, I would like to put some non-managed power at that transgo kit and see what she'll do. I know the conv is junk, being the new weak link since the trans is done...the Edge we ran on it wouldnt push it hard after it slipped the conv.

Our buddy Joels 4x4 made 460rwhp at the LA dyno day with stock trans. I dont know how it lives but it does. Even after racing people with the race car on the trailer behind it.

Where do you look on the snap shot for slip?

If you're looking at the snap... I think you've passed the slip. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Turbine speed vs. Input shaft speed.
From my perspective, GM has them labeled backwards, but it works nonetheless.
Gone wheeling in the mud today...

So as long as those two are the same +/- 10 rpm everything is happy?

There's more than that, but that is the common one that I've been seeing.
Basically, at 1:1 ratio, Turbine, ISS, and OSS should remain same.
