I was towing my 3000 pound 5x10 trailer yesterday after finally putting 500 miles on my truck I wasn't sure so I put it in tow/haul mode it towed like it wasnt there except when I would brake hard it would make a sound like a p/s pump going out (ya know that whining noise) it sounded like it was comeing from the torque converter area is this normal is it the grade braking in the allison or is something wrong thanks for your wisdom

I tow a 5K lb. trailer and in tow haul when downshifting the trans does whine through the shifts. I once listened to a 8.1 gasser with the Allison driving by me and you can really hear the transmission. I think the diesel tends to droned out the transmission under load and its more noticeable when in tow haul slowing or stopping. Just my .02 worth.
