Zorganov 05-28-2004, 11:19 AM Does anyone know what replacing my exhaust with aftermarket will do to my engine warranty? I know my emissions warranty will go out the window but I'm not too overly concerned with that, I'm just after my engine warranty. My dealer isn't exactly the brightest out there and has no answers for me. Any help is great! GMCSID 05-28-2004, 11:31 AM It all depends on the dealer you go to. From reading some of the stories here some people are treated as if there were no aftermarket parts on their vehicle, and some are denied warranty just because they have them. The best thing to do would be to have a good relationship with your dealer and ask him about your exhaust. It's approved for the Duramax and has a lifetime warranty, AND WILL NOT void any warranties by GM... Zorganov 07-07-2004, 10:11 PM Thanks for the advice guys, I went to dealer and had a "chat". He says just my emissions and stuff will be gone, but that's ok with me, I can live with that. My truck didn't come with a CAT anyway so all I'm getting is more flow and lower growl from straight pipe. -Zorganov trapman 07-10-2004, 10:28 PM Did you ask him why your emission warranty would be void? The muffler doesnt make more or less emisions that is up to the cat ( if equiped ) ECM, pump and injectors. I hear what you're saying and agree with you, just what the dealer said As for the turbo, I wouldn't call it loud, but I can hear it for sure! I haven't heard a truck that has a Cat in it to compare either.
