This may be completely normal, but I didnt notice it until i went on about a 170 mile trip saturday. Ive got about 300 miles on her now. When i start it for the first time that day, it has a wierd drone noise, and will continue to have that for about 10 minutes or so. Even in the 90-100 degree weather. Ive been around fords for the last 5 years or so, and am used to hearing them suck air pretty hard while they are cold, but this seems to last awhile. So my question is, is this normal? I dont drive my truck but on the weekends, so maybe it is from sitting. I drove it everyday when i bought it (2 weeks ago) for the first week or so, but like i said, i didnt ever notice it then. Thanks for the help

Same here. Sounds like its over reving till it warms up a bit. I'm curious what will happen in winter seeing as this is my first diesel. (And no the high idle is not set to on)

Fan, it sounds like a jet trying to take off, very normal

I hear it now and then, even with warm temps. It's not consistent no matter what the temp is. I'm going to check if it comes on when a certain HVAC mode is selected.

My truck may be sitting overnight and it comes on first thing in the morning. It doesn't make sense because the engine is cool. The fan will never make sense it just does its thing.
