Ok Guys I am in the process of test driving a 02 ext. cab dmax with 64,000 mi. on it. It's also four wheel drive. I need some help as far as what this year models problems were and what I should check on before the buy. I know there has been injector problems with this year model but not sure about what else there has been. All input is appreciated.

main thing is injectors but on 01 -02 they are covered for 200000 miles. or 7 years. get it, love my 02'. you can also do a vin check on here in the VIN Check Thread

That is one good selling point so far is that the injectors are covered to 200,000mi. Gotta love that.

Check for POWER ADDERS! More than likely if it had a EGT probe installed or boost gauge it had some power added. Could have been mild but it's something to consider.

Other than that check the usual stuff but just don't kick the tires,you'll pay extra. :D

I will check to see if the has been a bung put in for a pyro gauge. Keep the ideas commin. I only have the truck till tomorrow afternoon. Is there any way to check the injectors without looking at the oil in the pan?. The truck seems to run great. It will already cruise past the ford that I am driving stock. So that is a plus. ):h

Can anyone tell me what kind of fuel mileage I should exect from this truck. Truck has 3.73 gears, and is also 4x4.
