I'm about to buy an 2004.5 2500 Cummins "600" 4x4 quad cab Laramie and was wondering what was a good price to expect to pay. MSRP on the truck is 45,000. Thanks for the info.

I bought mine for 9K of the sticker. The dealer was like an hour away, but he made the deal on the phone. I went to a few other dealers close by, and they told me there was no way I would buy a CTD at that discount. So, off I went. He let me pick from any truck on the lot and took 9K off the bottom line. Was definitely worth the drive. The local stealers can kiss off.

Mike Brown Dodge in Granbury. Only dealer I would ever reccomend. Real easy to deal with. I dealt with Tyson, whose father is the sales manager, so he never had to go ask him about price. Easiest deal I ever made. I did have one problem. They left the drill they used to put my tags on in the bed of my truck. I found it when I got home, and was showing the truck off to the wife. I drove it back down the next day, and they promised me a free oil change for doing that.

Mine stickered for 38055 and got it out the door for 29241 so there are deals out there, they are clearing out the 2004 and 2004.5 so the deals are there, you just have to find the right dealer.

I wish I had your luck! Hahaha, I've had my '04.5 600 for about 4 months now and have 2,600 miles on it and the appears to have every bit of 100,000miles hahaha. Then again, that's what beds are for. To be used.

I'm new to this site and although I own a Chevy 2500 DA 2001, I'm interested in a 2500 Larimie CTD 2004.5. The best price I've found so far is $37,200. That's with a spray-in bed liner. It's a nice truck and I was wondering if any of you had some prices for me to compare to?

Thanks,

Bill in Boise

Wow that's a heck of a savings.... $12,000 off? Sure you don't have your trade included in that price?

My 04 stickered at 42,300 and I got it for 35,200.

I paid $199. over invoice, Go online and check out costco's buying service. It's the first time I used them, But you have to go to one of there approved dealers.

I didn't trade anything in!

Mine 04.5 3500 CTD (just delivered) stickered for $43,800 and after rebate and deduction from invoice I paid $35,600 (before tax). I can't see how tinsmith got it for 32k since that's well below invoice and if costco is charging 199 over invoice, that's phenomenal. Edited by: hasselbach

HI,

Well I live in Oregon, (No Tax) the truck I got was ordered for someone else who backed out on the deal. I also bought it from the owner of the dealership, we ride horses together. Yes I used Costco, but I also talked him out of the Hold Back!

It's also a 04.5 2500 Sport edition

OH Yes,

I forgot, I paid cash for the truck. Cash talks payments walk.

That makes sense now, since the hold back is a few thousand as I recall.. That's a sweet deal.

Tinsmith,

Invoice on a 44355 is roughly 40,000 or about 10% off.

Rebate is $2500 which brings you to 37,500

Holdback is low as far as I know, usually like 2 or 3%

I just don't see how you got $12000 off. What's the secret?

I have known him for 20 years and it is the 3rd truck I have got from him, his grand daughter is riding one of my horses in the Pony club.

It's not a deal that anyone else is going to get. My last truck was and 01' Cummins and I also got a Durango from him.

Thanks. Thought I missed something with the deal I got.

I looked and looked for 3 months before I bought mine. First as I am new to the diesel crowd I was looking for used. On several occasions I drove anywhere from 1 to 4 hours only to find the truck had sold before I arrived. At one dealership they offered a "Larimie" for 44,000.

On close inspection of the window sticker the make model was SLT and under extras was "Larimie" badge. What the **LL is that all about.

Some are real crooks. Some deals are not at all "deals" watch your back.

I finally got mine SLT trim + leather, pedals, power everything, and a few other nick nacks for $32,500 ($42,058 sticker) as tinsmith says cash does help. I put $10,000 down which helped persuade the salesman. Also if you are looking at the extended waranty (they dropped $400 on the warrenty) or a trade in theres plenty of room on both. If your trading in know what the trade in is worth (Kellys or NADA) and also look up the retail. The retail is what the dealer is most likely to sell the trade in for after they wash it! (usually about $2.5 - 4 G's more than they gave you).

Good luck,

Lov'en my 600 HO CTD QC 4X4 !!

Well if you know him soo well, shooting the breeze with him while his grand daughter ride one of your horses, doing whatever else with him.... Then why did you need to use "costco's buying service" to get "It's not a deal that anyone else is going to get."

You guys sure do argue alot about what price others clamied to pay... My truck stickered at 43k, plus the 3k dealer markup, making the trucks asking price 46k. I just happen to be friends with the manager of the fleet dept. of my local dodge dealer, and I got it out the door for 33.5k.

OK .... so with a dealer markup of $3000 (what BS!) you saved $12,500. Realistically you got a $9500 discount which is fantastic.

The guy we're questioning saved $12000 and no mention of "dealer markup".

It looks as if most are getting about $7000 average discount from sticker if they buy invoice and take incentives.

My truck.... 42,300 sticker, 35,200 out the door and came with free bedliner, free tonneau cover and a instant same day loaner car contract for the life of the warranty. Those alone are good for $1000 more list. So you can say I got $8000 off. They also gave me $1000 more for my trade than all of the services said it was worth because the salesman made a mistake on the rebate. Now I got $9000 off total.

Not bad at all.. seems as though we both got good deals on our trucks.. I love my truck so much, I was willing to pay invoice for it if need be, but I'll take what I can get :) I love my truck!
