I've been looking into replacing my overhead dome lighting assembly with the assembly that had the sunroof controls and Homelink garage door opener. At first glance it looks like this would be a simple operation since both assemblies contain the OnStar microphone and light assemblies. I am assuming that the Homelink electronics are inside the overhead assembly so this should be a plug and play mod.
I'm new to the forum but have 25 years experience in electronics and engineering and bow to the knowledge and experience of veteran GM owners.

IIRC, it's only a power and ground connection to hook it up.
Shouldn't be a problem for you...
One of our vendors, JP Customs, has 'em: Homelink (http://www.jpcustoms.com/store/customer/home.php?cat=262)

You could also look on Ebay for homelink as well. Apparently all you need to do is find some power and you can mount it anywhere. I am looking into this as well.

Look on Fleabay, that is where I got mine, around $100 total. Just watch for awhile and one will come up that matches your truck. Wires were cut, replaced with mine and it is hooked up and running. Nothing to it. Now I am going to put mine back on Fleabay with the A/C controls that came with the one I purchased, get some money back on the deal.
