So far just about everything is great with the new truck.


But there is one oddity. My crew cab has the (ultra rare?) split rear window. On the dash is the rear window defrost button. I press the button, the light comes on, and of course nothing happens since there is no defrost grid on the split window.


Does anybody else have this issue? Can I use the switch for something else?


Also everybody writes about "DIC"; well I do not have DIC. What package is/was needed to get DIC?

Do You have heated mirrors? Same switch controls them.

The mirrors are the telescoping camper mirrors with the blinkers in the glass. I had not consider that the mirrors might be heated, but suppose they could be.

I did the same as you Frank and got the sliding rear window, rear defrost delete. The defrost button on the dash controls the mirror defrost just like Sliveradogs says.


"Ultrarare" means that until you and I ordered our trucks the sliding rear window on crew cab was on restriciton and if you ordered a truck with one they either didn't pick the order up or they made the truck without the slider. That is what the dealer told me anyway.
