Does anybody know of any advantage to modules over programmers?

Modules interceps the ECM ,FICM signal to make the adjustable parameters ...Easy quick to install and remove ... Virtually undetectably ... A Programmer extracts your stock tune and makes changes ... I doing so different changes can be made ... Rev limiter,speed limiter changes and accurate Speed'o with tire size changes ... Most Programmers come with diagnostic capabilities ... You have to take with you so as to be able to reload stock tune in most cases ... Takes more time to change performance tunes do to upload speeds and you can't change on the fly in most cases ...Does it leave a foot print in the stock ECM ??
