My 2002 6.6 LB7 has 2 codes that came up on the scanner, P0101 and P1093. The truck smokes badly and idles very rough. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

P1093 seems to be a fuel filter needs to be changed, not sure about P0101.

P0101 refers to the MAF sensor. It could be dirty. Clean it with some electrical contact cleaner. Just spray it, don't scrub it. And wait several minutes before starting the truck to ensure it is dry and all the fumes have dissipated.

What air filter are you running?

It's just a Fram. I'm pretty sure it was nothing fancy. Where is the mass air flow sensor located? Out of curiousity, what would it matter what air filter is being used? Thank You very much for the info!!

Well, if you have a foam/oil air filter like a K&N and have too much oil on it you can foul the MAF sensor.

The MAF sensor is just downstream of the air filter. Pull the element out and look in the tube. It comes in on top of the tube just a few inches in.:)

Gary, Thanks for the advice. I've had the truck for a couple years now and it has been one thing right after the other. One positive thing about it ,is I'm learning something about diesels! Thanks again, Larry
