I recently purchased an 02 duramax /allison with a prior salvage title. The truck has 67000 mi. on it. Runs, drives and looks good. I understand the warranty is void on salvage titles. Does anyone know if the injector warrranty would be good on this truck, or if their is a way of getting around the no warranty on a prior salvage title? I have put a nicktane prefilter on and it seems to run fine but am concerned about the future. Also, how long should the engine crank before it starts? Mine goes at least a full second or maybe two. Is this normal? Thanks for any info.

salvage title voids all, including recalls, special policies and campaigns

What is a salvage title? Gotta be something pretty nasty to do all that.

The truck was in a wreck and the cost of the repairs was more than the blue book. The insurance company pays off and if you buy the truck back it is considered salvage and is re-titled as such. I can see why the manufacture would void all warranty, it should be razor blades.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Re-title it in a state with no salvage titles, then title it back again in your stste. It's done all the tiime by scam artists.

Once GM has info that the veh was salvaged the warranty is Branded, all dealerships run VISS,(vehical information service system) it gives us info on warranty status.

In Iowa, a vehicle that sustains over $6,000.00 damage is issued a branded or salvage title. My truck had a right front hit that was not that major. If you've ever had any body damage repaired, you know it doesn't come cheap. Oh well, I bought the truck right and if it needs injectors down the line I'll go the DIY route. Thanks for the input.
