just installed my stage2 air cleaner. it went pretty smooth right up to the point where i closed the hood. it appears that all things are not created equally. the new air box put a small dent in the support member under the hood. out came the dremel tool and after few minute the problem was resolved.

anyway i'll be towing the 5er out to the beach this weekend can't wait to see what it does.

You won't see much performance boost but it will spool a little quicker and it will certainly whistle more than it did, especially when under a towing load.

i just took the trailer for a drag down the road and i was running about 1500 rpm less at 60 than normal.

1500 RPM less or 150 RPM less?? By the way, how's the turbo whistle since install?

There is a more noticeable turbo noise, the jury is still out on this feature. But the throttle response is much better, just a little more pressure on the throttle at the bottom of the hill and up she goes.

You'll drop 100 degrees in egt's and my 0-60 times dropped 2-3 tenths. Turbo noise is a bit louder, but not bad.

I got mine from Kennedy, can't remeber the price but I know it was very reasonable compared to other prices I had seen.


Make sure you get the shield cover that comes with it, its a wrap that goes over the filters and keeps the big stuff out. Make annual cleaning much easier

i'll be getting a wrap soon, i've already picked up some big bugs and such. i got mine from a local dealer, they have a fleet of replacement filters. when mine gets dirty i just drop by and they give me clean one.

Just did my first mileage check since I installed the afe. Driving back and fourth to work I got 16.6 mpg prior to the afe I always got 15.3 – 15.6. The throttle response is also noticeably better.
