I went with the ProComp 285 recently over my stocks. I also added the Juice for performance (liked its monitoring abilities best vs the programmers).

So what is the lowest cost device I could get to correct the speedo for the larger tires? Are there any devices that can be used to correct the speedo that aren't then "married" to the one vehicle?

Thanks oh great ones!

YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES

Quad or Bullydog tuner..........

If you do not want a tuner then a True Speed will adjust it as well.

Or if you get a pre-nup http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif and...........

If you plan on staying with the 285's and really want to get married.........buy a Predator or call Diesel Tech a.k.a Steve Cole.

Your choice.

Any of those will get it done.

I was thinking hand held calculator.

Since your only looking at 5mph difference at 60-65 just run the posted speed and u will have the 5 over.

Thought I'd get a little laugh... just being a smarty sparky.

When I switched to 305's (33") on my Dmax the speedo was still pretty close.

yeah yeah yeah

From doing a recent check the poor man's way (timing using the radio clock over 10 mile markers on the highway), I estimate I am right at 10% off. That should be about right as I went from a 29.5" tall tire to a 32" tall tire, about 10% there as well.

I am not as concerned about the speed as I am about the odometer. I do extensive MPG calculations. I would rather my mileage be as accurate as can be than to always be adding 10%.

Personal preference.

SparkyTX,

Your post didn't say if you had the Attitude monitor or not, but it will operate as a speedo for you if you want and will correct for tire size etc. You just ignore the dash speedo and use the Attitude. call us if you have any questions etc.
