Hello, I have a 95 chev 6.5l diesel..

just after I bought the truck I would be driving along and it would give a little hiccup, almost felt as if it were just changing gears or somthing like that. I ignored it as it was not a problem for me, only happen once in a while, last year it started to get worse, only happen once a trip but the hipcup seemed stronger, then a little later the engine light would come on when it happened, and with the engine light on the truck ran sputtery on acceleration, to fix this I would shut off the ignition start the truck again and it was fine. I took it to a shop they hooked up the computer and read (I think) the codes were 17 & 18. While there they rebuilt the fuel pump changed the computer three times, changed the crank shaft timing sensor, ran new wires to either that sensor or another one (I can't remember which), there were a couple other things they did but nothing fixed this problem. It still has the problem only now somtimes when I go to start the truck, it turns over for alot longer, and when it does start the engine light comes on and it runs sputtery again, somtimes restarting fixes it and other times I have to drive it for a bit before restarting will fix it. Most times when this happens the truck is starting from cold, or just driven a short distance, within 15 Kilometers.

any help would be greatly needed

Get the codes checked again - if it's still 17 and 18:

Remove the 8-wire connector at top rear of inj pump - that's the Optical Sensor.

Engine should stabilize in limp mode - no power but runs smoothly. SES MIL indicator will be illuminated.

Need to get the current codes first, because pulling the Optical Sensor connector will set 17 and 18 codes - want to distinguish present codes from 'test failure' codes.

Could be grounds, connections, ignition switch, or could be battery voltage is low.
