: stacking and the d-mizer
moss022 05-26-2004, 09:54 PM i have the hot juice with attitude, thats not going anywhere. i also have the duramaximizer. my question is, which programmer would give me the most hp or stack the best. i have the predator that is on its way out the door. i am looking at a quad 215 or the xcelerator. the people at ppe say that the xcelerator and the d-mizer should mate fine. my delma is the quad is much more hp, but how good would it stack with the d-mizer and juice? would i be better off just using the edge and quad, or should i go with the other three? maybe there is a different programmer out there that i dont know of that might work better?? any help or suggestions??????????????
Got Juice? 05-26-2004, 10:10 PM edge and quad play well together, but you will be at the turbosystems limit for airflow and make all the power you need... the Dmaximiser might only add 25 hp due to fuelling/ air limitations
moss022 05-26-2004, 10:25 PM thats fine, anything is better than nothing. if i can stack the edge and quad and still get another 20 or so it might work. if i stack the edge and x and get 30 or so i will still have more power from the quad!! working on a little more boost and some nitrous to help for air demand.
Got Juice? 05-26-2004, 10:48 PM tranny mods are an absolute when stacking!
I don't see any trans mods in your sig...
Kennedy 05-26-2004, 10:50 PM ONE pressure box, and ONE pulse box. Just my opinion...
moss022 05-26-2004, 11:08 PM tranny mods coming in the very near future
Trippin 05-26-2004, 11:44 PM I have run all three at the track. Before I had a lift pump. So they will function together, at least on my truck. I can't back it up with any dyno results though. Sorry
sdaver 05-27-2004, 09:40 AM dmizer is not worth the trouble to install
moss022 05-27-2004, 11:36 PM my d-mizer was only 340, so i said what the heck. i usually leave my juice on 3 and everything else off. when i need a little extra the juice goes to 5 and the d-mizer on full, puts out a little smoke as well. hey trippin, what kind of numbers have you seen at the track with all 3??

Stacking all 3 at the track was before I launched in 4wd, so without traction the numbers were kinda poor. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

Kennedy 05-28-2004, 09:08 AM I still run a Maximizer on my truck. Yes, install is a PITA. The VA Smart Box D is a much easier install.
Thing is, when we go to stacking, there comes a point of diminishing return. The point where adding a lot of fuel gives only a little power. I've been going away from stacking pulse/timing boxes as there is really no reason why this cannot be done with one unit.
Now psi on pulse is something that I've done a lot...

Isn't the Maximizer and the Banks the only PSI boxes on the market? I have not heard many good things about either.
I agree that anything that can be done with stacking two pulse/timing boxes, could be done with just one if the vendor was willing to push it far enough.
JMO. If I had unlimited funds, rather than stacking I would add power in this order.
Trans -> One BIG Box or Tuner -> Lift Pump -> Turbo or N2O -> Injectors -> Hard Parts(heads, cams, rods, etc.)

Sounds like a good plan. Now only if there were a lift pump (with enough volume), a turbo, and hard parts available for the Duramax...
Kennedy 05-28-2004, 10:44 AM The old VA Smart box is a simple plug-n play unit that works well. While Mark was here we played a bit with stacking, but we were just plain out of air.
We set up a program that wasn't so aggeressive down low so as to massively overfuel, but still out of air. In hindsight, we probably should have scaled back the pulse box, and built off of a lower tune...
