When in for steering rattle and mirror mentioned that the pickup while running would sometimes squeak, like bad idler bearing or something up w/the belt...Will always squeak and shutdown...tho i dont believe its casuing any issues, but it is kinda annoying...Neither of our powerstorkes do this. According to the TSB the manager gave me, it claims that the noise is from the rapid shutdown caused from the high compression and sudden stop of the crank of a diesel... Is this for real???Thanks--Adam

My 2003 has a squeak at shutdown. Try appling belt dressing on the drive belt. This did fix mine. I was able to duplicate the problem right before I applied the belt dressing. After the dressing was applied the shutdown squeak was gone.

The only bad part was I went to the carwash and sprayed the engine down with degreaser and the noise come back. I am going to apply more belt dressing. http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif
