I have an 04 LLY, 2800 miles on it. Had it in the shop for a rough idle and general lack of power. Dealer had to order a new injector and it's not here yet. We're planning a short w/e trip with our trailer, only about 40 miles from home. When I told the dealer I needed to be pulling out on Friday, the service manager said to come get my truck and go ahead and use it this w/e. He said the injector wasn't "that far off, it just wasn't within specs." I have no idea what that means. Do you think it's safe to use the truck before the injector is replaced? Our trailer goes about 8500# loaded. Thanks.

If the service manager told you to drive it, I would, and I'd work it as hard as I could, maybe it will blow up and then they will have to replace the whole engine. Where the hell do they find these guys to work at the dealerships?

I have used that line many times... If you drove it in, you can drive it out.. just ask him for his home number in case of any trouble you may encounter

agree with dmaxallitech.flip a coin. if it where me take the trip either way the injector is bad and will need replaced. the chance of major damage is nill unless you drive the snot out of it. patrick

I had mine in for rough idle yesterday and they tightened up a ground wire to the engine block and all is well so far. This was the second LLY they have had with this problem. It took them two days to find the problem on the first one and was the first thing they checked after it failed to give them any codes.

Thanks for your input guys. Think I'll pick it up in the morning, fixed or not. If it shoots craps, they can tow me home.
