What is the best way to break it in, I see mileage all over the map and was wondering if break in had any thing to do with it. When can I hook up my 5 th wheel and start towing with it. Thanks. TTA89 08-06-2006, 04:18 PM Hook it up when you get home. Factory engines are already broken it by the time you get it. Mine gets the same mileage at 14K as it did with 100 miles on it. 16/17 in town and 18/19 on the highway. I have driven it the same way since I picked it up. Changed the oil at 3000 and 10,000.
