I don't have any problems with the Ally or the NSBU switch, but I continue to find a very small amount of ATF starting to form a drip on the bottom of the NSBU switch and the surrounding area. I carefully wipe off any traces of ATF and they are back in about 4 to 6 days of driving. I've checked the vent at the top of the trans case and it is completely dry. The ATF level is normal.

Is it possible that the shift rod seal coming out of the trans case could be leaking? The trans does not have any other leaks of any kind. I'm pretty sure the ATF is coming out somewhere near the NSBU switch. If the problem is the shift rod seal, does anyone know if it requires a major tear-down to service or replace it? http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

The shift linkage seal can be replaced in the truck. If the shop doing the work has the proper tools ( J 43911 and J 43909=Kent Moore) it takes about a half hour.

Thanks for the info. That’s a relief to know that the trans won't need major surgery to replace a $12 part. To satisfy my curiosity, I'll probably mark the exact location of the NSBU switch, then remove it to examine the shaft seal. I'm still under warranty, but I don't know if I can trust my local stealer. In the past when I've taken vehicles to the stealer for warranty work, I've always been concerned that I'll have more problems as a result of their work when I get it back... http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif
