what damage is done to a pcm if it is unplugged without the battery being unhooked?

Can't say for your 6.5, but i can't see why it would be any different than the dmax. I have unplugged and plugged different pcms in my truck over 10 times easily and have never disconnected the battery, and haven't had one problem................not to say someone else won't.
