Looks like they went the Dodge route (links and coils) except instead of two seperated links they use one big one. Unless they have some way to control it, axle travel will mess with caster angle. That's why Dodge went with the four link setup.

They rest of the truck looks the same.

I'm not going to talk engines Broker. Maybe you can fill us in. You own and drive them daily with literally hundreds of thousands of miles under your belt.Edited by: hoot

I have a buddy who's one of the suspension engineers on the '05 program, and it's been pretty insane all along. From my understanding, packaging everything has been their biggest issue, and as a result I'm sure a few compromises have been made along the way... Supposed to be pretty decent though.

Packaging.... I'll bet the higher frame created issues with a full four link. The bracketry may have had to have been out of control, hanging down and flexing. So they went with that angled down two link system? (I'm speculating)

Diesel Jay .... where are you?

I like the changes they did. The aux switches are great. Too bad I had a bum experience with the 6.0.

I'M GONA HAVE TO AGREE WITH HOOT ON THIS ONE. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Caster angles are going to be affected in the motion of the axel. The axel will turn bottom forward when suspension compresses. As it swings it will also affect the toe-in.I'm no engineer but i don't like the setup.

Luke, should be an option on all brands of trucks in my opinion. Now if there was a sub panel for this switch bank in the back of the trucks then even better.Power for hitch lites, rear axel cooler fans, trailer equipment, breakaway charger & aux fuel tank pump.

I have no comment on the 6.0l PSD's other than. Luck of the draw! It's not been a happy experience so far.

Dodge picked up their four link setup from Jeep, so If they copied Dodge, who copied Jeep, it might work.

This plenty of room for a nice switch panel in my annoying center console. Seems like a good place for an aftermarket company to make one for.

There are a lot of things that I like what Ford seems to be doing. This is exactly a few of the reasons I waited to trade my DMAX in this year. I am certain that my next truck will be a 2005 Ford SD F350 4x4. This one will not be my daily commuter, but a work truck, so no leather Lariats in this truck. This truck will be an XLT with all the towing accessories available. I may even go to the 6-spd, I'm considering one, but I have a hard time passing up the TQShift tranny.

Dimmy, resale of a Ford or Chevy 6-speed SUCK's. Get the auto.

I'm pretty sure it will be an auto. Just started considering one, but I think I'll end up with the automatic.

If yer gonna get an '05, wait until mid-year anyway as Ford will use up all their '04 engines 1st, just like they did with the '04's with '03 engines in 'em for a while., so you may not get that extra 10ft.lbs of torque until mid '05.
