Howdy!

My truck (see signature) is an LT3 model, and it has a small speaker (I think it is a speaker) above the driver side door, just about above my head. There is not another one on the passenger side.

What is it?

It's a temperature sensor for the digital environmental system (H&A). You've got a total of 5 of them, but I don't remember where all of them are. I think a couple are under the dash somewhere.

Hmmm...I thought it was the ambient inside temp sensor for the auto climate control. And there is only one of those! There are sensors in the ducts though. But those are for vent temps. The HVAC module compares vent temps to ambient temp and adjusts the blower speeds, mode settings, etc. only when in auto mode.

the one above the driver head is the only "ambient" in-cab temp sensor. Theres like 5 more sensors placed in various parts of the ducts, before and after mixing doors, diverters etc... One of them is just behind the passenger side airbag inflator, if you take the dash top off. I dont know where the others are.

And there's a small fan in it so if you hear a noise coming from it it's the fan going bad.

Nope, thats up by your overhead compartment.

Its either the mic of on-star (see if its by your overhead compartment, if it is then it's the temp sensor for the driver, but if there isnt a noticiable mic then it's deffently the mic for on star) as for i think its a mic
