Well my check engine light has been coming on for 2 months now.

Last month, took it to my buddies shop, and the computer said Mass Air Flow sensor... which I think was codes 100, 101... He then ran a test thru the computer to check the Mass Air flow sensor, and it was working fine, according to him.

He suggested cleaning my K & N System, which I did, top to bottom, then we reset the computer....

3 Weeks later it comes on again. I go back, he says lets check it again, same codes again. So we then checked the wiring plug for the Mass, which seemed fine. So I recleaned just the filter.. Re set the computer...

Then again this week which is 2 weeks later the Check Engine Light came on again....

Thoughts???

Wipe off excess oil from filter , clean maf with contact cleaner , you can get a can of this from auto parts store, good luck.

Lose the K&N and go back to the stock air box.

DITTO that. When you re-oil the filter, use a very light coat. You really dont need to coat it heavy. When I first got my truck, I used the K&N drop in filter. Never had a problem. Now I have been using the Volant system w/ their "Primo" 8 layer filter for over 2 yrs now...no problems.

Clean the MAF like RTL TRP stated.

Lose the K&N and go back to the stock air box.:exactly: It's just letting more dirt in and causing problems for you as the oil migrates to the MAF.

I have been having this problem for the last month. I went to GM to get a sensor and they want $475!!!!! Not to mention they told me it was on national back order.

I haven't been to the track because of this. Didin't realize how important this sensor was till I hit the staging lines and had a hard time building boost. After 3 secs with my foot to the floor the boost came on but was very hard to maintain. My guess was that the computer was running off the map at that point.

Anyone know where I can get a MAF at a decent price??

Thanks,

Nick
