The july issue of four wheeler has a 2002 suburban powered by a duramax with the allison tranny. It has been done by a.........farmer (not a geeky engineer). Yes it can be done it has been done and I bet he'll take orders too.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif Hey GM are you listening? since the liberty will get a merc diesel will the general put an isuzu diesel in the equinox? Nope they have moth balls not bulls balls. Wouldn't a 35 to 40 mpg suv be nice? Maybe someone will put a VWTDI into an Equinox.

We need a dmax/alli burb. I'm tempted to trade the tahoe in on an PSD Excursion. Sad but true. Same mileage and uses cheaper fuel. Bigger also. I could always use the extra room while at the ballpark with the kids.

Don't go over to the dark side Dmax Power007. Wait and ye shall recieve. Hopefully GM will get the idea to finally compete with the excursion

GM will not compete with the excursion cuz this is last year for production of the furd.

Not enuf sales and no one could fit it in there garages.

A duramax powered sub or even a Tahoe would be nice.

Or a 2 door Tahoe, now that would be a speed freak.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

I guess GM would like to sell a whole lot more dmaxes in all kinds of vehicles. Looks to me the amount they can produce is limited. They put that engine also in the 4500 trucks. It would make a lot of sense to put in in any heavy vehicle which could make use of the power, torque and fuel efficiency. In Europe where I come from there exists NO big heavy gas engine powered vehicle of any kind. 3 ltr. is alreay a very big engine overthere. All SUVs are powered by diesels, gas engines are maybe 20 % or less of the whole market. Gas costs 5.00 $ per gallon, diesel costs 3.50 $ per gallon. One of the very very few examples is the Jeep Grand Cherokee sold with a V8 gas engine also, but its not exactly a hot seller, many more are sold with the Mercedes 2.7 ltr. engine, which powers also the M class SUV to 95 %. Nobody actually needs the big power and torque overthere, there are no big pick ups existing, its just a question of fuel efficiency and wasted money in gas engines. I personally would like to have a duramax Avalanche 2500 HD, but that will never happen...

How about a Duramax powered Corvette?

Diesel....it's what we want and not just for trucks anymore.
