I've decided in a tough country front end replacement, but I'm having trouble on a few things. I can't decide if I want the expanded metal all the way down.

Or if I want to leave out the bottom bar and expanded metal and leave room for lights.

I'd go all the way down.

Nice looking bumper. What prompted you to go Tough Country over Ranchhand?

I vote for all the way down but they both look good I don't think you can go wrong.

It depends if you want lights and stuff on it. If you don't I would go with all the way down.

I like how the toughcountry angles in towards the truck on the outside. The ranch hand comes out and then looks like it makes a 90* turn back to the truck. I like the ranch hand, but imo the toughcountry flows better.

I already have lights on my truck, and I want to retain them. I like the looks better of all the way down, but I don't want to give up my lights.

If you do any wheelin' at night you need the lights. It's hard to get by without em.

i would go with the full and just weld on some tabs for lights

That's not a bad idea either but that expanded steel will eat up a lot more light than you think it would but it would be nice to have some protection for your lights.

I still have the old bumper on the truck.
Thanks nwallis for the posts. I agree that it would be hard to get by without the lights, especially since I have gotten used to them. And I think you're right about the expanded metal eating up a lot of light. Toughcountry told me that they could weld tabs for lights in front of the metal on the cross bar, but i think that would stick out too far. So my next idea was mount them on the flat plate and have them cut a round hole in the expanded metal to let the light out.
Thanks to all for the help,
sorry I'm being a women about this:)

Is it still in good condition? Selling?

I would say leave room for lights and have them weld tabs on for you. Extra lights don't hurt. Put two flood style ones on with two spot light style. I think the one without the bottom bar would be better. I definitely like that one better than the Ranch Hand too. That front bar that goes to the top of the hood looks awsome. That will help you park. You'll know how far to pull up.
