I installed the transgo jr. a few days ago, not too difficult, but now it seems the shift points are lower during light throttle. Did anyone else notice this? Is this supposed to happen?

The shifts will be quicker than before until the transmission learns completely in. Once the learning is completed I think yoou will find them to be close to the same as before. The Transgo will not change the shift point just how quick it gets the shift completed.

I did notice the 3rd to 4th shift is instantaneous compared to stock but at the same time not harsh at all, I like it so far!

Will installation of Transgo Jr void my 100,000 transmission warranty??

Nevr,

Unless you have an extended warranty, you only have 36,000 mile warranty on power train less engine. Engine is 100,000 miles.

I would guess it would void the warranty if they knew about it.

Thanks..

Actually, in 06, both the engine and trans have 5yr/100,000 warranties. The trans warranty is direct with Allison... standard coverage on 06.

That's a new one on me. Why would Allison give such a warranty when their trans is running a fluid they dislike?

Interesting. If it's true then cool but only when you want to leave it stock.

I was one of the dummies who purchased an extended warranty when I bought the truck, but I was only going to leave it stock.

Thanks to the diesel forums, I now see the error in my ways.

I was in the process of signing the papers to buy my truck when this was dicovered. I assumed it was 100k as in previous years. Wrong
I was assured by the sales manager that the Alison was indectructable and didn't need a 100k warranty. After the smoke cloud cleared i informed the sales manager that i had worked as a GM tech for 12 years and disagreed. Long story short, the dealer split a 72/72 major gaurd extended warranty to keep me from walking.:D

When the LBZ came out GM "married" (in my dealers EXACT words) the engine and Allison for a 5 year/100,000 warranty.

That is engine and transmission ONLY......not entire drivetrain.

Not per the dealership. The trans is 3/36,000

Click on powertrain and then click on Duramax. The entire engine is NOT 100,000. The trans is still 3/36,000
