I have posted here a couple of times but never really introduced myself. My name is Josh. I live in the central part of North Carolina. I am part time college student/landscaper. I currently drive a 2005 GMC 1500 5.3HO which is "technically" my dads, but I say is mine. With my part time landscaping business the 5.3 isn't cutting it. It pulls anything I need it to but I really hate watching my gas gauge move that fast.
I am looking to buy MY first vehicle, a 2006 2500HD D/A CC SB SLE. I found one that is very close to what I like. On the GM website is says that the sticker price is $44,533 and GMID price is $39,830. I went to the dealership today to check it out and the sticker says $46,500ish and the GMID price would be $41,500ish. I asked the dealer about it and said he had no clue why. The only explanation he could give me was that there was a $1500 "dealer price adjustment" rebate. That still doesn't make up for over $2000 price difference between what the GM website is telling me and what he is telling me for a price. Did he doctor up the sticker/invoice or is there really some explanation for this?
The best price he could give me with the $1500 rebate plus another $3000 rebate without the GMID was $38,523.50. Should I try to pursue an explanation for the other $2000 or is there really a reason for the price difference?
Thanks for the help.
