: Good Chevy Service Depts.- Metro Detroit?
CAJUN86 05-24-2004, 07:03 PM I know this is in the wrong forum, but I am in need. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif Does anybody know of a good Chevy service department in the metro Detroit area? I have been to Bill Fox Chevy 4 times and will never go back! Three times on the alignment rack and still pulls to the left big time, plus the steering wheel isn't even close to being centered. Service manager states that it's within specs though, OK. Those guys are a bunch of clowns working there. Don't buy anything there or use their service department if you value your truck. Need help! Thanks.
hdmax 05-25-2004, 12:31 AM Get ahold of Dmaxallitech (Eric) He is in the Grand Rapids area. He has been working on the right to work on Chevy vehicles. I do not know if he has succeeded.
CAJUN86 05-25-2004, 07:31 AM Not as of yet, but he will let me know when he can do it. Believe me I hope soon. Thanks
redneck45 05-25-2004, 07:56 AM Funny you have the alignment problem, I bought my 4 wheeler off a guy here in metro detroit that traded in his dmax because the dealer could not get it right! Keep saying it was in spec. He now has a 8.1 and wishes he kept the dmax and delt with the alignment problem.
Fred G 05-26-2004, 12:56 PM I lived in the Detroit metro area for 10+ years and tried many difference northwest/north/northeast Chevy dealers. The only service department that fixed things right the first time was Rinke in Warren. They diagnosed a couple of weird problems with Chevy cars that 2-3 other dealers (including Fox) couldn't fix. I haven't been there for 10 years so things could certainly have changed!
Amric 05-26-2004, 01:03 PM If Rinke is the one on 14 mile, they like to void warranties for aftermarket mods.
nassdmax 05-26-2004, 06:01 PM Rinke Dinke... Jay Chevrolet in Highland is poor.... Don't know more about metro detroit dealers. I have heard Champion Chevrolet in Howell is sketchy...
I would suggest Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing. Their service dept is great as well as the sales department. It was well worth the drive for the sales experience alone...
I live in Milford, so I am in the middle.
HTH.
UAWDIESEL 05-26-2004, 10:19 PM I drove up I-75 just south of Flint to Fenton Chevy Dealer with a freind and he got good service . I think it was Exit 76 . Go up the off ramp and turn Right . You should see the Dealership 1/2 mile down the road on the Left . Good Luckhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif
dmaxalliTech 05-26-2004, 10:50 PM boy do I have some stories on Rinke Stinke....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Disapprove.gif
Shaheen huh? Guy I work with was laughing so hard when he read that... at least for the service aspect. Cant comment on the sales.
nassdmax 05-27-2004, 12:30 AM Got lucky for a smaller repair I guess... For something major I really don't know where to go that is "good". Hate to bad mouth our dealers, but there are not many that really cater to the HD market, and the diesel especially. I sure wish there was.
GR is how many hours Eric??? Let us know if/when you can do the bowties in the future under warranty...
dmaxalliTech 05-27-2004, 08:32 AM GR is about 2 hours from Warren. Using that point becuase I have traveled that many times to GM Tech Center.
Believe me, when we are allowed to go both ways, you'll see an announcment. In the meantime, the hoist is being installed in my garage this weekendhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
VFRRider 05-27-2004, 06:46 PM Rinke is on VanDyke at 11mi, thats the GMC Dealer, the Chevy Dealer is on VanDyke 1/2 mile south of 11 Mile. I wouldn't go in there to use the bathroom let alone buy a vehicle from them. Heidebreicht Chevy is up in Romeo, they are good people, have had good experience there, sell lotsa trucks to them farmers.
And I've heard of this guy in Grand Rapids who seems to know what he's doing...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
DMAX-MIKE 05-28-2004, 01:05 PM I know it's kind of a hike for you CAJUN86 but i have had good luck with St.Clair Chevrolet in St.Clair they seem to have some good techs who know what the are doing. 810-329-1000 ph#
TheBac 05-29-2004, 10:18 AM I take mine into Shaheen in Lansing. Service Dept is pretty good...I'm on a "first-name-basis" there. (Yeah, I b*tch alot http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif) My service guy is Rob...he's good people and knowledgable. If I could ever get time off, though, I'd take the truck to Eric. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
