quick question my 6.2 is in a 93 1500 long bed silverado with a 700 r4 and it is fresh with about 8000k on it is 93 the last year for the 6.2 and why does it have the fuel filter on the back of the motor like a 6.5 thanks :confused:

from what i've heard the 1st year of the 6.5 is 93, the only year of the 6.5 with mechanical injection.

there are a few 92 6.5 turbos as well. yes i think 93 was the last year of the 6.2. my dads 93 6.2 has the filter on the intake like a 6.5 as well. It may have been something they changed in 92, but not sure, might've just been the new bodystyle thing.

They were probably transitioning in the '93 model trucks... After all, the 6.5 manifold should bolt to a 6.2, so they were probably starting to use 6.5 parts.
