: TTT mirrors, Co. relpy
SaguaroKid 05-24-2004, 06:24 PM Well it took long enough but's here's the offical reply I recieved from TTT mirrors, regarding selling of single replacement mirrors. If ya brake one, ya have to buy two to get the one mirror ya need. Buyer beware!!!
Good day Mark,
Your enquiry has been forwarded onto myself for a final response on this subject. I understand that our Southfield Michigan office staff have already spoken and emailed to you the status of supplying individual mirrors. They are fully aware of your request and responded in a timely fashion to your original enquiries.
Our decision not to supply individual mirrors was based on supply , demand and economics. Stocking a full range of individual replacement mirrors would be slow moving , with costs very significant. At the end of the day there would be very little price differential between supplying individual and vehicle packed mirrors.
In conclusion , we have no plans in offering up individual mirrors for sale. We have noted and acknowledge your concern.
Please accept this response and thank you for feeding your concerns through to our ttt-mirror website.

Business Development Manager - North America
My reply to this,
Phil,
I guess your holding all the cards on this one. From my perspective I just threw away 550.00 dollars plus the labor for installing your mirrors. I can not take the chance of buying
two more, I might break the same one again, then I'd have 3 lefts and no right.
It appears your price differential is more important than your customer relations. Where I work at customers are our TOP concern and our Co. is 154 years old.
So, your decision not to supply individual mirrors based on supply , demand and economics has sent me on my own Jihad. I guess I got nothing to lose. I will start by doing allot of good advertising for ya.
Good luck on your bottom line
Mark

EEEEZY 05-24-2004, 09:34 PM Mark,
I've been following your dilemma regarding the TTT Mirrors because I just had my own set of TTT's installed. I really like the mirrors, but I'm not too impressed with the solution or the reasons the company gave you for not selling you an individual mirror. Doesn't seem like they care too much about customer satisfaction or the reputation that may follow them with decisions like this. I feel for you! Hope I don't ever break one of mine. If I do, at least I'll know now where I stand with the company. Good Luck!
Camstyn 05-24-2004, 10:55 PM Hey Mark, have an email address for this guy?
- a concerned fellow TTT mirror owner
Tinbender 05-25-2004, 12:57 AM There sure must be a difference in customer service between manufacturers. I have Cipa Extendable Towing mirrors and broke the glass in the drivers mirror. Called and explained the problem, they asked my address and shipped me the glass and tool to replace it. No Charge. That's customer servicehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif.

SuperTuscan 05-25-2004, 10:05 AM It sounds like a great case study to me.
The manufacturer that sent out a replacement pane - no cost to the customer - has generated more goodwill and has probably captured a long-term customer (as well as generate new ones from reading the topic) than the cost conscious, economics quoting business manager that couldn't address a goodwill opportunity by breaking open a box and sending out a mirror.
Lets look at the costs.
Mirror pane + shipping + T&M Office Staff < Happy current customers + possible new customers
T&M Businsess Manager to write email + T&M of Office Staff to process rejection > unhappy customer that tells story on Internet

Max Owner 05-25-2004, 10:46 PM Mark. Something I will keep in mind, when replacing my mirrors. Cipa, ya say, Bob? May have to reconsider them.
Max Owner 05-25-2004, 11:11 PM P.S. Bob. Send them the URL for the Diesel Place. Show them the free advertising.
EEEEZY 05-25-2004, 11:44 PM Just sent TTT the following email expressing my feelings to them:
<DIV>Just purchased a set of your mirrors. Your company makes a nice product but it's management has a lot to learn about customer relations. This was really a poor decision!</DIV>

BassinRVer 05-26-2004, 08:41 AM SaguaroKid,
I need a left (Driver Side) mirror for my 02. I cracked it up preety good. Which one do you need. If you need the right one maybe we could go together then split them up? I have the heated electric without turn signals. my e-mail is ConnerRJ@c-b.com
Camstyn 05-26-2004, 12:50 PM Email sent. Let us know as soon as you hear back from him Mark, before the real mud slinging begins.
If your matter is not resolved I am definitely not keeping my TTT mirrors. I would hate to break one and be at the hands of the bean counters like you currently are.
Sheesh, some people can't see the forest through the trees.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Thumbs Down.gif
SaguaroKid 05-26-2004, 01:14 PM Wow, Phil from Australia called me today and is going to orchestrate an arrangement between BassinRVer and me. BassinRver to get his left heated and power mirror and me to get my right heated, power and lighted mirror. He eluded to the fact of makeing provisions for future people that experience this problem too.
Thanks to everyone for all the help. Hopefully the next person that has the misfortune to need a single mirror will have some smooth sailing.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Max Owner 05-26-2004, 03:22 PM Mark, glad to hear it. I'm glad Schaeffenacker (mispelled?) is standing behind their mirrors. I would have preferred them, but would have settled with the CIPA ones. Mabe they saw the potential advertising market, here on the Diesel Place. Free, good. Free BAD.
Good call Phil, from Australia. Good to see business working to get and keep peoples business.
EEEEZY 05-26-2004, 03:27 PM Mark,
Received an email back from Phil at Schefenacker-Australia today in response to my note to him. He alluded to the fact that they (the folks at TTT) will be reviewing the requirement for individual mirror sales and that they are taking the matter seriously. Sounds like all this might have had an impact on them. Hope so! Good Luck!
Camstyn 05-26-2004, 06:46 PM Hell, it doesn't even matter if they want to package and sell them individually or not. For as often as they'll need to sell them, can't they just pull one out of a box?
mpdlt 05-26-2004, 11:56 PM Don't reckon those guys at TTT ever heard of turnover, they're just going to sit on the inventory and hope ALL SALES are for 2 at a time....ROTFLAMOhttp://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif
Don't we drive on the right side of the road, the same place all the trees and phone poles are located?

Tinbender 05-27-2004, 12:29 AM Sent CIPA an atta-boyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Bob
bigchev 05-27-2004, 03:03 PM This is good info, thanks.
I was going to purchase the TTT mirrors but now I won't.
Thanks again,
SaguaroKid 05-27-2004, 07:48 PM Bigchev, Outback Phil appears to be working hard at reversing his orignal decision on sales of single mirrors. He his setting myself and BassinRVer with singles. The mirrors them self are great. My only complaint was having to buy a whole set just to replace one. Imagine damaging a rim on your truck and having to buy four to replace it.
Max Owner 05-27-2004, 10:41 PM Saguaro, as long as TTT looks after you, I will give them my business. They however should have done what Cipa did in the first place, though. Learning experience. Hopefully TTT is paying attention.
Bullseye54 05-28-2004, 07:44 PM I doubt that they would send you a set of new ones if they had to replace one under warranty.I'm sure you'd get a box with a single mirror in it.
EEEEZY 05-28-2004, 09:53 PM Actually, I just installed a set and, during installation, it was discovered that the outside edge of the housing of one of the mirrors was cracked. Since everything was all apart, we went ahead with the installation but, afterward, I called to share our discovery. After a conversation with the factory, the distributor sent us a new SET of mirrors and, once we swap the new ones with the cracked one, they will sent a pickup tag so that the cracked ones can be returned free of charge.
BassinRVer 06-03-2004, 03:51 PM SaguaroKid,
Can you track you package? I can not.
SaguaroKid 06-06-2004, 04:58 PM I got my single mirror last Thursday. There is oneness in the Universe. Thank you everyone!!! Outback Phil has been very cooperative with when the shipment would be made and when I could expect delivery also a follow up e-mail on how I was satisfied with the product when I took delivery and the packaging. I couldn't ask for more.
Max Owner 06-06-2004, 09:39 PM Now, onward with gas prices!
Glad to hear things worked out, Mark. (finally)
BassinRVer 06-07-2004, 09:57 AM Yep my mirror arrived on friday and there packaging was fine - mirror was perfect. I want to thank TTT-Mirror for biulting what GM could not - a perfect towing and all around great set of mirrors. I just love these mirrors.
Max Owner 06-07-2004, 02:35 PM Oh, you too Robert.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
