After about 7,000 miles on a set of Rickson Eliminator 19.5 polished single rear wheel wheels with Toyo 245 14 ply on them, though I give a report. The rim quality and polish is among the best out there. They also arrived perfectly true, as we checked them for runout and balance before putting on tires. Drove 3500 miles to Guadalajara and 3500 back. The ride unloaded is very slightly rougher on rough roads than previous 305E's, but very smooth with a medium load. Wear seems excellent as the rears hardly show any wear, but my front end needed alignment so there was a slight cupping on the front. One interesting thing was my fuel mileage improved at 70 mph about 1.7 to 2 mpg, actual fill data and not a readout. The tires are much narrower than what I had previously. And they really will carry a very heavy load - I came back loaded with stone columns, etc, stacked to the top of the cab under the canopy. Had only 50 lbs of air pressure in them, so for real heavy loads (the time I had a GCVW of 33,000 while pulling my triple axle trailer loaded with tile) they would be super. All in all - I like them. Now for the bad part - due to my engine failure and driving it 3500 miles, I am ordering a new 4500 and the Ricksons won't fit. I am not going to let them go on the trade, so if anybody has a SRW with a heavy camper, etc, give me a email as I am going to sell them. My loss - your gain.

No, that is a Lance 1071!
Yesterday we did go up Sycamore Valley Road off Cleghorn off the 15
her in SoCal. It was so bumpy at 45 mph the kids were bouncing
around in their car seats. The combination of the long wheel base
and the G80 locker make dirt roads a whole different world.

Mixing threads, we then went up Lone Pine Valley Road, a 10% grade for
about 10 miles. Yes, these LLY trucks do heat up quite a bit... too much for my liking.

So far the wheels are OK, but the left front tire does rub. So much so
there is a hole in the wheel well liner.
