does anyone have a part number for a locking fuel cap that fits a 2002 chevy 3500 D/A thanks

I dont know if locking cap is such a good Idea. back in 74, people had their gas stolen even with locking cap by a punch and hammer to the bottom of the gas tank.

I want one to curb the ease with which jealous ex girlfriends can kill my fuel system. :)

another question, is it specifically for the diesel fuel system, I read ours has to be vented differently or it can create vaccum and wreak hell with our pump, I'd double check the application making sure it is duramax specific.

I used the STANT locking cap from Wal-Mart on my 03 for several months with no problems before I bought the AC GT250 (from www.ac-direct.com). I also used the STANT cap on my 98 6.5TD. From what I could tell they are vented the same…both caps will vent in and they will hold some amount of pressure before they open a relief valve to vent out. The advantages of the GT250 locking cap are 1.) they are Labeled for DIESEL FUEL and 2) they re-use tether strap from the OEM non locking cap.

The GM part No is 15070014 for the cap that jbplock is describing.

I used the GM cap. No diesel markings, and I cut that stupid strap off. So far no vacuum problems.

The GM 1 that I have with that part no. has a fuel pump witha circle D in it.
